Below is Rachel's most famous post, "I'm Scared:" I would like to share the reason why I am with this movement. I feel I am fighting with the government for the right to my very own life. I am 38 years old and the economic problems and the reasons to fight are here NOW. I will never have the appropriate savings for retirement. I don't feel like I ever had a chance to see this coming. I wished I had a parent that had payed attention to the economic problems and direction of our country, and tried to stop it or warn me of its effects. But my parents didn't foresee this. They didn't know what to watch.
Take a good look at me. I am the child who already has the nation's mounting debt on her back. I am the daughter who as an adult is experiencing what parents are fearing now for their children's future. I am the modern day slave. My liberties are no longer steered by theConstitution and the bill of rights, but by the IRS. I am a small business owner, a mere target for the internal revenue service. They sift through all of my personal items and tell me what I can keep and what I cannot. I know with every fiber of my being this is not right, but I am told there is nothing I can do.
So, what's the point? Some folks aren't feeling what I am feeling. They think they still have time because their kids are young. Welfare benefits are the highest they have ever been.Civil servants are offered high salaries in order to grow the government and drain the tax payers.
When did the term "global warming" replace Mother Nature? When did the term "residents" replace the word Citizen? When did breaking the law become rewarded and following the law got you targeted? When did I go from living in a free country to a communist country?
I don't belong in this environment. I don't like being told I have to submit. Or what? They will continue to dangle my freedom over my head? Then do what? Throw me in jail because I can no longer afford to pay the taxes? Anyway, I hear that is where the Green Jobs are. Those jobs were never intended for the private sector.
This, what everybody fears, is already here. There is no more time. In a matter of a few more pieces of legislation, Congress will figure out more ways to gain access to retirement funds, college funds, and savings accounts. It will become a part of Social Security.
I guess the up side is that the children won't need an adjustment period. They won't have the shock I have had. They are being indoctrinated while parents are at work. They are becoming used to the ideas of "everyone being the same". I will never get used to this idea.
I am the one they are trying to eliminate. The one who works, provides jobs, and promotes the core values of our country. We have no where to flee. This is it. Right here, right now. No more willingly following this path to my damnation. I believe we have a choice. We can fight by pulling the purse strings. Less than 50% of Americans pay federal income tax. I suck at economics, but doesn't that sound wrong and unsustainable? When the tax payers grow tired, or finally say give me liberty or give me death, what is to become of our nation?
This keeps me up at night. I started this email at 4:15 am. I have worked on this Palooza as though it is my final hope for a chance at getting my true freedom returned.
